Visitation Committee

Who: Adult men and women

What: Become a trained member of our visitation team.  Visit the sick and elderly at home or in hospital in teams of two.

When: First Meeting of the Fall on Sunday, Sept 19 after 10 am Mass

 

Fellowship and Evangelism Committee

Who: Adult men and women and teenagers

What: Assist in planning and conducting activities for people to get to know each other in the parish and to welcome new people to the parish.  Activities may include promoting Coffee Hour, occasional pot luck dinners, wine and cheese parties, and more!

When:  First Meeting of the Fall, Sunday Sept 26 after the 11 am Mass

 

Altar Servers

Who: Adult men and women and children 8 years of age and older

What: Become a trained member of the Altar Worship team as an LEM, Reader, Thurifer, Crucifer or torch bearer.

When: : First Meeting of the Fall Sunday, Oct 3 after the 11 am Mass

 

Sunday School and Youth

Who: Adult men and women and teenagers

What: Help plan our Sunday School program for children.  Volunteer to teach or to help out with the program in some other way.  And/or help plan a program for teens that would coordinate with the Archdeaconry Youth Ministry. 

When: First Meeting of the Fall, Sunday Oct 10 after the 11 am Mass

 

Social Concerns, Outreach

Who: Adult men and women

What: Social Concerns organizes our Parish Outreach efforts to meet the needs of the poor and outcast within our community.  Activities include gathering food for the local soup kitchen, gathering gifts for needy families at Christmas, gathering toys for children of mothers in prison at Christmas, gathering items for Partnership for the Homeless, and much more!

When: First Meeting of the Fall, Sunday Oct 17 after the 11 am Mass

 

Episcopal Church Women

Who: Adult Women

What: A new ECW chapter is being formed here at St. John’s.  It will participate in the ministry of women throughout the Church and will include opportunities for study and service. 

When: First Meeting of the Fall, To Be Announced
